That’s the only word on my mind right now.
I wish I could say that we fought hard, and played well like we did during the regular season. I wish I could say that the refereeing was bad. I wish I could say that we owned that number 2 seeding. But the fact that it came down to us fouling the other team in the last two minutes of the game so that we score really hits home. We just couldn’t hit our shots and in the end FGCU pulled out on top. ( And Georgetown does have a kind of terrible track record post season. )
It’s kind of a somber ride back to the hotel right now, but I wish the Eagles the best in the next round of the tournament.
But, in the end, the most important part is that the pep band and I still have a great time playing at the games. Which, in the sappy moral sense is the most important part. (Sorry, had to go there. Hahaha.)
I’m sorry to say goodbye so soon, but I wish the best to all the teams in the tournament. And I hope that this only makes us fight even harder next year. (Ya hear that Otto? No NBA for you!)
Georgetown forever, and Hoya Saxa,
